		(2/16/08) At Saturdays special park meeting, the voting members of GGP, by a vote of 27 to 17, voted to have the GGP Association submit a petition to the county parks department for a park within GGP. By an overwhelming margin the site nominated for the park is at the entry of GGP, "dead ahead", in the center of "circle", as you drive in. The property is actually four lots (three make up Grand Point, and one at The Bel Ra), and is highlighted below lighter and pointed to with the arrow. As previously posted the county raised about $270m via a bond issue last year to develop parks throughout the county. They asked us, do we want a park? This initially came up at the spring 2007 meeting. GGP, via our special meeting and this web site, held a spirited debate on the pro and cons of the park. The chief negative concern was the concern of having homeless persons "camping out" in the park. The conclusion was that thru proper design, lighting, hours and enforcement we can minimize the potential negative and enjoy the amenity. We have now submitted our application (click here for a copy) to the county for the park, and are awaiting to here their feedback. There is a meeting scheduled for April 28, which is our first "hearing", and we should have some idea of where the park is going at that time.
