Easements

Updated 6/9/08

There are three easements needed from our various properties to undertake the streetscape project. Some properties only need to execute two.

Temporary construction easement: The First easement is a temporary easement along the front 10' of your project, to facilitate the construction. The landscaping and/or sidewalks come right up to our property lines. We can't expect the workers to stand on the "proper side" of our property line to install the sidewalk, or plant a tree. The 10' is simply a temporary right to use, and access the property, for the duration of the project. Any disturbance to the property, drives, landscaping, or other items will be restored before the project is finished.

Every Property needs to execute this very simple letter.

Download this form. The letter needs to be signed by the landowner or authorized condo board member.

Please return the form to: Alex DavisShaw, at Engineering and Capital Projects, City of Sarasota, 1565 First Street Room 100A, Sarasota, Florida 34236.

Verizon Premise Access License: Verizon is bringing FIOS fiber to our neighborhood with this project. Your developer before you purchased condo, probably signed a similar agreement with the phone company giving them permission to access the building and install phone lines. This is the same type agreement, except it's for fiber optical cable, giving you the ability to subscribe to their newest service, phone, cable tv, and very high speed internet.

Upon execution of the letter, Verizon will visit you property with a team of technicians, to determine the best way of servicing you building. There is no cost to you to have the service installed.

The form can be downloaded here, and please fax it to Chavez Summerville at Verizon at: 813-383-6229

FPL utility easement: Florida Power and Light will require utility easements if they run new underground utilities to you building. Some of the newer projects already have transformers in their yard, with power underground from there into the building. FPL will simply hook up the existing transformer from the new street underground, with no further easement needed. However, particularly in the center of GGP the power line in the rear is being removed, and new underground utility will be run on the property to the front street and tied in underground. There will be no cost to the property, but an easement will need to be created and executed by the property owner or condo association.

The following addresses need to sign FPL easements for Power. They are 111, 128, 171, 182, 205, 223, 280, 325, 378, 449, 495, 522, 531, 554, 575, 609, 616, 621, 632.

Download the attached pdf map, to see if you're property need this easement.

The city has delivered the requested easements to Brent Parker, the GGP resident representative. Please call him (366-2477) to get your paperwork and get your easements executed.

At this time we no of no other easements (Phone, Gas, Cable) needed or requested.
