Verizon is converting the last users to fios

You need to convert today! The copper is going away.

When Golden Gate Point undertook the streetscape project 3 years ago, Verizon installed new fiber (fios) for all services (Telephone, TV and Internet). Verizon is now trying to get the last customers to transition over before the copper is removed. The old copper is "legacy" and difficult to support.

Verizon is sending out notices and calling on customers to set up their conversion.

If your phone is still on copper, here are the contacts.

Appointments: Mr Ron Lewis 1-813-483-2709

or

Coordination issues: Mr Matt Dowell 1-941-952-5616

Please, please, please, call and make your appointment. If you are simple making the phone transition, there is no cost. Of course there is a menu of choices other than phone (TV and Internet).

The copper is going to be removed (and the light poles down the center of the island removed), and you need to transition before that happens. The quality of the signal is significantly better than the old copper too!

GGP Streetscape Project Complete

The major streetscape project was completed and the celebration held November 14 2009. The Streetscape celebration party was a huge success with about 200 people attending for probably GGP's largest turnout. Many thanks to the Party Committee!

The running dialogue of the streetscape progress, drawings and other documents have been moved on the web site to the "archive" section. Some may still find the information interesting, even thought it's no longer current.

Below is also a little of the historical events that took place over the last few years.

New Trees planted and power poles removed

The power poles down the center of the property being removed.

The very first bricks were laid at 10:00 am Monday April 13, 2009. Please see Phasing discussion for road closures related to brick.
